Orange Oakleaf (Kallima Inachis)

Kallima inachis have brown wings, which have blue lustre. In the middle of its forewings, there is an orange wide stripe. There is a white speck under its head and a transparent spot in it. Most of the hind wings are purple with a whitish hind edge. The underside of the wings is yellowish. When it is quite, there is a brown vertical stripe in-between the tip of its fore wings and the end of its hind wings. On both sides of the vertical stripe, there are some inclining stripes, which look like the veins of leaves. The color and stripes in the underside wings are different in different seasons. Kallima inachis is a famous mimicry insect and is widely collected by butterfly collectors. This kind of butterfly is less in number. They have bright colors. They fly in forests and they may stop flying suddenly. If they stay in branches of trees or tree trunks, it will be very difficult for people to differentiate them from withered leaves. Adult butterflies can fly very high and very quickly, plus mimicry, it is very difficult to catch them. Their wingspan is 70-95 mm and they distribute in Shanxi, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Hunan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Taiwan, Hainan, Guangxi, Yuannan and Tibet.
