Bhutanitis mansfieldi has black wings, on which, there is whitish
yellow stripes. The width of the yellow stripes is almost the same with the black base
stripes. There are 2 tails in the outer edge of the hind wings. The outer tail is longer
and bigger in its end, like a thumb. Thus, it looks as if it has 3 tails. It has eyelashes
above its compound eyes, which are seldom seen in butterflies. Its larva feed on
Aristolochia moupinensis. The wingspan of Bhutanitis mansfieldi is 60-70 mm. It only
distributes in Yunnan and is listed as class 2 state protection animal.
