Aydingkol Lake-the eye of Basin of Turfan
 The Aydingkol Lake is situated in the southern part of Turpan Basin, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region with its coordinates of latitude 42กใ32'-40กใ43' N, longitude 89กใ10'-89กใ40' E. Aydingkol Lake, the lowest place in China is also named Jueluohuan. Ayding means moonlight in Uygur language because the lake surface is as smooth as the mirror.
The Aydingkol Lake is situated in the deepest part of Turpan Basin, 30 kilometers southeast of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is seated 155 meters below sea level. The lake has an area of 245 square kilometers. The basin is comprised sandy gravel, silty clay and chemical deposits due to Quarternary alluvial,aeolian and lacustrine activities .  At present brine could be seen at the west mouth of the lake. It is about five square kilometers and 0.5 meters deep in the middle 1980s. It belongs to temperate continental arid climate. The lake contracts because the high temperature and shrinking inputting river. It is 14.2C on average and the maximum may reaches 47.7C.
However, Grape Valley, 11 kilometers north of Turpan County is totally different which has lush trees and many grape plants. The grape here is famous at home and abroad for its outstanding taste.
