中国科学家创造性地将非贵金属纳米颗粒封装在豆荚状碳纳米管内,首次发现金属的活性电子能够“穿过”碳管管壁,富集在碳管外表面的电子可以直接催化转化反应分子。该研究所提出的利用石墨烯作为"铠甲"来保护催化剂的概念,有效地解决了非贵金属催化剂在苛刻条件下的不稳定性问题,为未来设计和制备高活性、高稳定性的非贵金属催化剂开辟了新的方向。
Chinese scientists have developed a "chainmail for catalyst" concept by encapsulating non-precious metal inside into Pod-like carbon nanotubes(CNTs). It is the ?rst study demonstrating the penetration of electrons from the transition metal con?ned inside CNTs and the enhancement of a catalytic reaction over the exterior surface of carbon by the penetrated electrons. These ?ndings pave a new route to design ef?cient and durable non-precious nanocatalysts not only for electrocatalysis but also for conventional heterogeneous catalysis applications under harsh conditions.
