It is the most popular variety both in China and overseas for its vigorous resistance and easiness to raise it. There is a big sac on the head but not covering the cheeks, just like a cap, so it is called "Cap Fish" in Beijing and Tianjin. Some sacs are thick and sturdy in white color like a square jade thus are called "Piled Jade". This variety has many color mixtures. Red and White Oranda cultivated in Hangzhou are particularly famous for their plump sacs.
