Famille rose porcelain

Famille rose, also called soft color, has changed the harsh tone of single-lined smooth coating of gu cai (antique color). The characteristics are: color and luster is rich; the color is gentle and soft, beautiful and elegant; the image is finely and vividly portrayed.

There are changes in painting. The distinctive characteristics of famille rose color is it absorbs skills and technique of brushwork of traditional Chinese painting. It melts arts of brushwork of traditional Chinese paintings into its own technology, skills and artistic treatment. Therefore, it has its own characteristics and style, which is similar to the decorating style of colored painting of porcelain.

Hollowed out vase with revolving heart

Made by Jingdezhen kiln in the Qing Dynasty, 40.2cm in height, 21.1cm in foot diameter, 19.2cm in caliber, this piece is now collected in Beijing Forbidden City Museum. The neck, mouth, two ears and the rim of reserved panel of vase are glazed gold color. Its neck and foot are painted with rolling flowers and bending branches on purple ground. Its abdomen decorated with reserved panel design of four-season's flower on yellow roller impression ground. The internal part and bottom of vase are pea green glazed. The shoulders are movable. The design of the ten Heavenly Stems and the Twelve Earthly Branches are wrote on the upper and lower part respectively of the shoulder. There are two elephant head-shaped ears engraved on two sides of its neck. Six seal Chinese characters, which means it was made in the reign of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, inscribed on its bottom.

Amphora Zun with design of bai (means "one hundred") deer

Made by Jingdezhen kiln in the Qing Dynasty, 44.1cm in height, 16.4cm in caliber, 23.4cm in bottom diameter, this piece is collected in Jingdezhen Ceramics Hall. It has straight mouth, oblique and round shoulder, slightly high ring foot, two ears on its shoulder and design of curled-up serpents. The quality of base is hard and fine, wholly white glazed. The body is painted with design of mountains and rocks, trees and one hundred deer, which are in different poses and with different expressions. One hundred deer symbolize good luck. It is a royal ware in the Qing Dynasty, and is extremely rare and exquisite.

Plate with design of 8 peaches

Made by Jingdezhen kiln in the Qing Dynasty, 4cm in height, 20.5cm in caliber, 13.2cm in bottom diameter, this piece is collected in Tianjin Museum. The plate has the distinctive characteristics of Jingdezhen ware: the base color is pure white, with fine and smooth quality; the color of glaze is full and moist; the wall is thin. The outer wall of plate is painted with design of peach branches, which are folded into the plate. There are 3 peaches outside the plate, 5 peaches inside the plate. The color is quietly elegant, soft and beautiful.
