Three-tailed Bhutan Glory (Bhutanitis Thaidina)
This kind of butterfly has many Chinese names. It belongs to Parnassiidae.
Its body and wings are black. There are 8 transversal yellow strips on its fore wings; the
3rd and the 5th are shorter and the 6th and the 7th are connected; its hind wings are
narrow and longer and the outer edge of them is wave-like. There are 3 tails on the hind
wings, with 5 orange stripes on the outermost edge. Its outer appearance is quite like
that of swallowtails.

Bhutanitis thaidina is specie of high mountain areas and they live in
mountain areas above el. 2000. It distributes in Yunnan, Sichuan, Shanxi and Tibet. It is
rare specie and a class II key state protection animal. Some scholars believe that this
kind of butterfly should be classified as a kind of swallowtail of Bhutanitis Arkinson.
