European Wigeon（Anas penelope）
Habitat: rivers, lakes, reservoirs and bays.
Feeding habits: filter food out of water with its flat bills.
Food: aquatic vegetation and mollusk.
Size: middle-sized wild duck with a full length of 48 cm and a weight of over 900 g.
Habits: resident bird. It produces its young in Northeast China and spends its winter in Middle, South and East China. It mingles with other wild ducks during daytime in winter and it often takes a rest by floating on water surface. It starts to seek for food in places near the bank at dusk. The cries uttered by male European wigeon sounds like whistling and are quite different from those of other wild ducks.
