Do You Know Reptiles?

Reptiles hold an extremely important position in the process of life evolution. Since their embryos can be engendered in the amnion eggs produced on land, their production and engendering get rid of dependence on outside water environment. They become real land vertebrates.

蛇头 Snakes, lizards, turtles, soft-shelled turtles and crocodiles we frequently see are all reptiles. Their main features includ: oviparity, amnion eggs, allotherm, dry skin, and with scales or shells on their backs. Their bones also have a series of features that suit life on land. Their toes have sharp claws, which are beneficial for their crawling and climbing on land.

In the Mesozoic Era of more than 100 million years ago, reptiles were quite prosperous. They were the rulers on earth then. People call that era “the age of dinosaurs”. Dinosaurs became extinct on earth. The 蛇尾 present reptiles were only a small part of the reptile reminders then. In spite of this, reptiles on earth are still quite colorful and rich in variety.
